Sonos Beam Sound Drops Out

Only while watching TV (Roku player plugged into an LG, Beam connected via HDMI cable) my Sonos Beam sound will drop entirely out and go to low volume. When I turn it “back up” it is crackling and fuzzy, then will suddenly and unexpectedly pop back in but, because I turned it up, it is blasting me with high volume. This only happens during TV watching, never during any music playing.

What specific model TV and Roku device do you have? Do you have a Beam Gen 1?

That could be a bad connection or cable. See if a wiggle test does anything next time it happens.

haha “a wiggle test” i love how i know exactly what you mean … i have replaced the HDMI cable a couple times now, have never in the moment tried to wiggle, will give it a shot next time it happens. i hope this doesn’t persist.

I am not sure which Gen honestly of Beam. Roku device is roughly 8-9 years old. The LG is not even 10 months old so fairly new.

You can get the generation and other details here.

Beam Gen 2! do you have any experience with this on the Gen 2? I was told by a visiting IT specialist that the drop out is a known technical issue with the Sonos Beam line in general.

No Roku or LG here, but my Sony TVs work great to two original Beams, no issues in years. The third worked great too, now replaced with an Arc.
