I’m considering a Sonos Beam 2 for a wall mounted TV. I have a shelf that is 2 feet below the TV. Will it sound good if I place the Beam there, or do I need to wall mount the Beam below the TV? I’d prefer not to wall mount it but don’t know if it will sound good that far below the TV

Placing it on the shelf should be fine. Just follow these guidelines from Sonos:
- If put on a shelf, place at the front and keep 2" (minimum) clearance on both sides for best sound quality.
- Keep 1" (25mm) space (minimum) above Beam so you can reach the touch controls.

With the shelf 2 feet below the TV you might consider putting something under the Beam to raise it to the top of the shelf.
Just to fool with it to see if it sounds better you could use a cardboard box recut to fit. Stuff a pillow or blanket in it to reduce vibrations.
