Hi, I have purchased a TCL Android tv. I tried connecting it with my Sonos beam using both eARC and optical cable. But no output is received. I tried many solutions suggested in other threads playing with the settings, but it just doesn't work. Any suggestions please? Has anyone else faced this issue?
I’m not sure why you would connect using both. Remove the optical connection, as it is limited to less bandwidth than the eARC connection. Make sure the eARC connection is in the correctly labeled eARC port on the TV, and that CEC is turned on in the TV’s settings. There might be a ‘digital output’ switch that needs to be turned ‘on’ in the settings of that Tv, I’m not familiar with TCLs, and you haven’t told us which model, or provided a link to look at the data they or others have published about that model.
Not sure OP connected HDMI and optical at the same time……
Good point, hard to tell. I may have made an assumption.
Thanks Airgetlam and 106rallye for reply.
I tried with the HDMI and optical cable one after another and not together. I connected with Sonos support and they confirmed my TV model is compatible. I had to then send the diagnostics to Sonos support and they pointed out from diagnostics that the HDMI is not attached. However, my TV did identify and show the Sonos beam as connected in the eARC port . So, naturally I never suspected the cable or how snugly it fit in the port. However, I just took the chances and reconnected the cable on both the ends and it worked. So, learnt that with a not so snug fit of the HDMI cable, TV could still identify the device but would not be able to send output to the device.
