Okay, I bought a Beam Gen 2, 2 era100s to be used as surrounds and a Sub Mini. I set it up under my wife’s account using our wi-fi system. So, I go to Setting> your system, products & it shows the Beam, Era 100 Left surround, Era 100 Right surround and a sub mini. If I watch something in Tubi which I know is only in stereo in the Sonos app TV HDMI it shows Dolby Atmos. Same with YT. And there are no sounds from the surrounds but when I do True Play they play a sound. Have I got something set up wrong here?

Hi @toyboy

Thanks for your post!

Sorry to hear about this issue you are having with the wrong codec apparently being shown in the Sonos app when you are playing stereo content.

What device is actually playing Tuvi, please? It is an app on the TV, or do you have a streaming box such as an Apple TV, perhaps? I suspect that whatever device is actually playing Tuvi might be forcing a conversion to Atmos. If you can find an option on said device to not do this, I think that might be the answer for you.

Your Sonos Beam (Gen 2) does not convert audio from one format to any other - the app always reports what the Beam receives.

As for there only being front audio, it seems the conversion to Atmos does not include any upmixing - the stereo audio is just being “re-wrapped” as Atmos.

I hope this helps.
