After connecting my era 300 to my new Sonos arc ultra and updating firmware and app I have now noticed that surround formats aren’t being rendered properly through the era 300 speakers. During 5.1 content the surround effects are coming from the top speakers only and in 7.1 the surround rear effect speakers do not make sound only side surrounds and top make any sound. Is anyone else noticing this?

I have the same issue. Looks like several folks have this issue. Sonos tech support is useless. They asked me to install mesh to fix this issue. I had Arc before and everything was fine.

Hoping that I’d find someone with higher IQ next time I call them.

Same problem, but with Era 100's in my case.

Same Problem With 300 as sourround speaker

Sonos is aware of this. Or is this a different problem?

There are multiple threads about this. It's the same for Era 100 as surrounds.

Now they are saying this was an intended change and are hiding any references to how the speaker worked in surround sound prior to this.

I have the Arc Ultra/Sub 4 and Era 300

I have just removed the Era 300s from surround sound as it is so bad I can’t bear to listen to it any more. I think it is something like a synchronisation issue but the sound is horrendous. Anyone experienced this?
