Hi, I have a Samsung QE65S95FATXZT connected to a Sonos Arc through HDMI port #3 (ARC/eARC).

When I use the native Disney+ app on the Samsung TV to play Dolby Atmos content, the Sonos app only shows “Multichannel PCM 5.1” instead of Dolby Atmos.

TV Settings:

  • Audio Out → Auto
  • Anynet+ →  Active
  • Dolby Atmos → Active
  • HDMI eArc → Sonos Arc

Could you please help me?

Both Sonos and Samsung support keep blaming each other.

Do you have a Disney+ Premium subscription?

Do you have a Disney+ Premium subscription?

yes

After running some tests, I noticed the following when saving three Dolby Atmos files into a USB memory, connecting it directly to the TV:

  • Files in MKV and M2TS format do not play correctly — there is no audio output, both with and without the soundbar connected.

  • Files in MP4 format play correctly, and the soundbar receives Dolby Atmos audio as expected.

This makes me think the issue is not with the Sonos Arc, since MP4 files are handled properly, meaning it should be compatible with the TV.

But why MKV and M2TS files are not properly handled by the TV, even though they are listed as supported?

And why do I only get Multichannel PCM 2.0 when using Disney+ installed directly on the Samsung TV?

I’ve already contacted Samsung Support, but they haven’t been able to provide a solution.
Can any expert here help me out?

The Disney+ app does not do Atmos on Samsung. On my 2019 Samsung at least. I watch Disney+ on my Nvidia Shield.

you know if there is a App on Samsung that works with Dolby Atmos?

Have you checked rtings website? I tend to trust their datasets for that kind of thing.
