Hi. I have an LG 65" TV with eARC, a sonos arc soundbar, and a PS5. I have played some UHD Blu-ray movies (Logan, Thor Ragnarok), which are supposed to be Dolby Atmos, but only PCM is showing in the app. I have Dolby Atmos as preferred sound on PS5. What am I missing?

Thanks for the help and support.

Manny

I can’t comment on the PS5 but the PS4 Settings I’ve seen posted are as follows (which perhaps maybe same/similar for the PS5)…

PS4 settings for Dolby-encoded discs:

Audio Format (Priority) - Bitstream (Dolby)

And while the Blu-ray is playing...

  • Press the "Options" button on the PS4 controller
  • Select "Settings"
  • Set Audio Format to “Bitstream (Direct)”

Also check the audio language is set to English-2.

LG TV HDMI input for the port in use by the PS5 needs to be set to “Bitstream” and not PCM.

Set the HDMI eARC port Digital Sound Out to ‘Pass-Through’.

Hi Ken. Thanks for the feedback. On the PS5, audio output, I have device type as  sound bar, audio format priority dolby atmos. I also have the TV HDMI eARC port set to Pass Through. I have followed some other recommendations on a couple of forums, setting changes on the Blu-ray options. Still getting only Stereo PCM on the sonos app🤷‍♂️

I can’t comment on the PS5 settings as I don’t have that product, but maybe others here will chime in.

Is the LG TV HDMI Input set to ‘Bitstream’? Did you check the language is correct for the Movie - it usually shows as English-1/English-2 and any other languages etc. Try the two English language formats. Make sure the PS5 and TV are both using Bitstream and not PCM/Linear PCM.
