Sonos app not showing audio type regardless of source

Sonos s2 app only showing Stereo PCM no matter what source I use. I have reset app and factory reset all speakers. The speakers are all working, but I don't know if I am getting 5.1, etc.

I just was on the phone with Sonos for about an hour. They had me send diagnostics, etc. They bumped it up to the next level and said they would email me to schedule a time to troubleshoot. Thanks again for your help.

@owabbit

If the Sonos app shows „stereo pcm“ I think there IS stereo pcm coming out.
What home theater device do you use and to what device (TV?) and how is it connected?

What sources (device and content) do you use?

Some content just offers stereo PCM audio and also it depends on device settings to get multichannel audio.

I have an LG Oled TV. I use a Roku 4K streaming stick. I also have a Sony 4k DVD player. All are accessible through WiFi. I have tried everything from Netflix, Apple TV and Max content to 5.1 music DVDs. All show only Stereo PCM. Up until a couple weeks ago they all showed up with the correct audio on the app.

@owabbit

If all source devices and also the Sonos home theater device (soundbar?) are connected to the tv directly, the tv is the pass through device and its audio settings have to be set correctly. Sometimes for example an update can reset some of the settings to default.
So I recommend to check the LGs audio settings and if they seem to be correct, also check settings of the connected devices.
If a restart of all devices doesn’t resolve the issue, I would reset the tv to factory settings and connect all other devices again.

I have done all of the above including resetting the TV to factory settings and reconnecting all the devices. Still only get Stereo PCM on the app. I even deleted the app and reinstalled it. Very frustrating. I do thank you for trying to help. I guess I need to contact Sonos.

@owabbit

So calling Sonos support might be the best option, because it’s much easier to try everything on tv audio setting with direct feedback and talking to each other. They also can run some diagnostics with your help und as ultima ratio perhaps let you doma factory reset of your home theater device.
Any feedback will be appreciated…

Update:  my problem is only when using LG-C4 TV.  When playing music from Amazon all is good.
