Roku tv remote will not charge volume on my RAY soundbar

Best answer by Airgetlam

Since the Ray is an optical connected soundbar, it requires an optical (IR) remote. Most TVs have a setting that you can change in the TV that allows you to switch from the current method to IR, but you’ll want to check your manual for the TV. These days, most Sonos soundbars get their information from the TV itself, via CEC, but optical is a one way connection, not two way.

Thanks. I changed setting from optical to auto. Volume now works from Roku remote.
