Both my MacBook Pro and Megaseg (DJ software) “see” the Bluetooth connection, but there is nothing coming out of the speaker. When I disconnect the Bluetooth, the internal speakers cut in and work fine.
Does the speaker need to be disconnected / isolated from wifi in order to engage bluetooth? Is the bluetooth confused by other connections (phone, iPad etc) ?

The Roam will always default to its last-used (available) BT connection. I would go into the BT menu on your mobile devices and ensure the Roam has been disconnected - then pair/connect it to the MacBook and try again.
