Hi, thanks to this forum and a very helpful chap I’ve got Apple TV working in 5.1! Woohoo!
Now I’m trying to get the ps4 to do the same. I’m getting stereo pcm. Did the switch to Dolby on the ps4 sound menu - still PCM stereo.
Is there a way to get surround when playing Fortnight - my son will be very grateful if he can

I used to have this too with my old TV. Maybe this could work for you:
Media audio content from DVD/ BD on the Playstation is handled differently as audio of games.
As far as I know gaming audio mostly is PCM format (stereo or multichannel).
I suggest, you set audio settings on TV to PCM or automatic. The PS4 audio settings I don’t know in detail. So you have to look there what options are available.
