Projectors not supported?

I have an issue where my Arc setup starts resetting its volume to 15, and won’t go past 15. It happens when audio is being sent via my BenQ TK860 projector.

It happens every now and again, and rebooting/reinstalling hasn’t fixed it. I’ve read several posts that this could be a sign of device failure, and I should reach out to Sonos support.

I started a chat and was directly told that Sonos “does not support projectors” - is this true? The projector has a standard eARC HDMI output. I can’t find any reference on the Sonos website that projectors are not supported, only that you need eARC.

Thanks
Tom

If you can try connecting the Arc to another device like a TV to see if the issue remains. Also make sure you haven’t set a volume limit in the room for the Arc.

If your issue continues you should know…

In order for Sonos to properly troubleshoot you should run a diagnostic within 10 minutes of the occurrence. Make note of the reference ID but don’t publish it in community. Then CALL Sonos Tech support to discuss the data. Make sure you inform them that it’s not about the projector.

You are right. A Sonos Arc needs (e)ARC. From what device shouldn't matter.
