Hi,

I have a QLED TV and Sonos Playbase, connected via optical cable.  I also have a Sony 4K DVD player connected.  I want to be able to watch camcorder films by connecting FireWire cable and watching on TV with

Sonos playbase.  Can anyone advise how I can do this? Is there a type of optical/firewire adapter? Thanks lots.

You can probably connect the camcorder to the TV using a FireWire to USB cable.

Thank you. Will see if can find a connector. Do you have any ideas?

I might actually be wrong about the FireWire to USB cable. It may not work.

What model camcorder do you have?

From what I’ve seen you’d need something that converts the firewire signal to something an HDMI port can understand. Five minutes of googling got me nothing…..

My ancient firewire-capable camcorders included a USB adapter so I could digitize the content to a PC easy rnough. Not sure I could watch it live though. One was a JVC, I forget the other one.

Use the multi cable that came with the camcorder and get a RCA to HDMI converter like THIS and connect it to one of your TV’s HDMI ports.
