I have just bought a new TV a Samsung but there is no optical output. With my old Tv I connected to my playbar with optical lead. There is only and optical input into my playbar. Is there a way of connecting my new Tv to my playbar?

I assume that the TV offers an HDM-ARC or HDMI-eARC connection. If so, this sort of device will generate a signal for PLAYBAR’s optical input.

I’d suggest some sort of HDMI switch, which includes an optical output. There are many to look at on Amazon, but can be purchased in other places. Merely put this device between your source device, and the TV, and connect your optical cable to it.

@Abates6864
This might be what @buzz has already linked to (I can’t tell as the link asks me to change country on Amazon), but when I had a Playbar, I used this to connect it by HDMI to the TV’s ARC port. It worked brilliantly.

If I follow @Rhonny’s link, I get mired in “wrong country” too, but it is a similar device and also includes a power cable. Both units will require power supply.
