So we’ve got a bit of a weird setup, which is one big living room / dining room / kitchen area, which is all windows on two sides. We have the TV mounted on a column in the corner of the two window-walls, with the Arc Ultra right under it (both facing diagonally inwards). The couch, however, is facing east-west. Picture below, with the primary listener (i.e. moi) highlighted in green. TV/Arc circled in red:

 

 

Struggling with where to put the Era 300s. Options:

  • Doing A/B, C/F, or D/E would place them aligned with walls and couch, but diagonal to Arc
  • Doing B/C would somewhat mimic the angle of the Arc, but misaligned with the room
  • In either case, which direction would we face them?
  • Or crazy thought -- put the Arc on the window sill at X displacing it from the TV (which must stay on the column in the corner)?

Suggestions and rationale would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

 

 

 

I mean, the best option could be to put the TV on the point X and the Era 300's in each side of the couch, but you can also try to don't move the TV and try to put the Era 300's on the points E and C (although it will be the best option to all the couch if this will be only for you I recommend you to sit in another place and if not try to put the Era 300' in spots, one in between your desk and the gaming sit (I think) and the other Era 300 on between the points D and E, both pointing towards your listening position. If you mean “as surrounds” I’d be included to settle for just the Arc Ultra. 

Or use an Amp with in-ceiling speakers. 

My vote would be for A-B or C-F for surrounds. I don’t like ARC separated from the TV.

I’d go with Era 300’s on stands (purple circles) angled in the direction of the (yellow) arrows. Of course the sweet spot would shift to center of couch. IMO A/B and C/F would place too much distance between the surrounds which ideally is no more than 8 feet apart. JMHO.

 

 

I'd lean to C F but wouldn't rule out the Amp in in ceiling option as a second choice.
