I have changed nothing, have always been able to control volume on arc ultra through my nvidia shield remote and tv remote now after update i can only adjust it from the app when I use the other remotes I get the white light like usual on the soundbar but nothing changes, I hope this bug or issue gets solved quickly as it's annoying to go into the app everytime especially when youtube has a different volume than everything else and I have to adjust a lot

Unplug everything for two minutes, then plug it back in. Sometimes the update/reboot gets a glitch.

Just a reminder, the Sonos Arc Ultra (and any Sonos soundbar connected by HDMI-ARC) gets the volume instructions from the TV set, which receives the commands from your remote. If it isn’t changing volume properly, the TV is likely not sending the correct instructions to the Sonos, hence why @Stanley_4 is recommending a reboot.

Jjust did this and that fixed it, lol that simple "sir have you tried unplugging it and plugging it in again" 🤣 never had a problem for years that required me to do this but will remember this in the future thanks again Stanley!

Many units will reboot if power is interrupted for a fraction of a second, other units will not reboot until power is interrupted for a minute or two. I prefer the latter type because it avoids trashing a system’s setup if there is a momentary power glitch.

Then I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, Sonos’ lawyers get sensitive about GDPR, I suspect.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

You do realize that this post originated two (2) months ago. So what update are you referring to assuming that caused your issue? You might also indicate if your device is iOS or Android.

It has nothing to do with an update. The tv remote was controlling volume and now it’s not. I just wanted to make it clear that I’ve already tried the unplugging solution. It sounds like I just need to call Sonos.

@Futureproof

You should have started a post specific to your issue as this thread clearly has nothing to do with it. Please do that and you may get help from members; or call Sonos Tech support if that’s what you’d rather do.
