I just connected a new TV to my Sonos surround sound, but I have no sound from the speakers
Unfortunately, nowhere enough information provided.
What Sonos surround sound? How is it connected to your TV? Which TV make and model is it connected to? What source are you testing with? Have you called Sonos Support directly to discuss it? What did they suggest?
Sonos Ray is connected via optic out cable. Music plays fine but the no sound from the television. The television is set up to use Opitc cable only for sound. I was on the phone with SONOS support for 2 hours and 34 minutes last night. They had no answers or solutions. They agreed to “elevate” the problem and said i’d get an email confirmation with details. It’s 1:51pm the next day and i’ve received nothing from SONOS. To say i’m disappointed in this system given what i paid for it, is an understatement. When it works, it’s good but it’s simply too complex to resolve most issues whenever they arise.
What make and model is the new tv? What have you set for the Audio Out or Use External Speakers (or however the tv addresses the use of soundbars)?
It’s a brand new LG (not sure of the model) And yes, it’s set for Optic cable out only (disconnected sound from television speakers).
Check the ends of the optical cable. Some are shipped with little caps on them which need to be removed.

You’re not making this easy for us, are you It’s so probable it’s a tv setting, if your system worked with your previous tv.
What are the settings are you using? And surely you can look up the model number on the tv itself or your purchase receipt.
