I recently purchased a Beam 2 to use with an LG C4 and Roku 4K Express stick. No matter what I try, I can’t get the Roku to passthrough Dolby Atmos. The audio always registers as stereo PCM on the Sonos app. Atmos works just fine when I use the native apps on the TV. I have tried various audio settings on the Roku, but I keep getting stereo audio when I should be getting Atmos. Any suggestions?

I do not believe the Roku Express devices can output Dolby Atmos. They are able to do 4K video, but not Atmos audio.

From the Roku web page, it states this:

  • Digital stereo over HDMI®️

  • DTS Digital Surround™️ pass through over HDMI

  • Supports pass-through of Dolby-encoded audio over HDMI

Correction: I have the standard 4K stick, which should output Atmos. Sorry for the confusion.

You may want to reach out in the Roku forums, or contact Roku’s CS, since the Sonos itself seems to work.

Make sure the TV is set to these settings:

HDMI Input Audio Format: Bitstream

Digital Sound Output: Pass Through

eARC Support: On

Yup, I did that, but I still only get stereo sound.

Be sure the Digital Output Format setting on the Roku is set to Passthrough. Set the Preferred Streaming Format to Dolby too.

So you do no even get 5.1?
