Arc, Sub, 2x SL     new LG TV with eARC   Media Players:  Webos, Shield Pro,  AppleTV, XBOX

This is weird,  if the Netflix title says Atmos = great.  But only some of the 4 players work with the sonos app indicating atmos.    You would think it would be consistent.    The XBOX is the most consistent.

eg

  • Watch Peaky Blinders on Shield, app says Dolby Mutlichannel PCM 2.0
  • Watch Peaky Blinders on XBOX, app says Dolby Atmos
  • Watch F1 Drive to Survive on Shield, app sys Dolby Atmos

Simplistically this leads to me thinking all Netflix atmos tiles are are not the same/different on different platforms.

weirdness

Make sure your TV settings are set to this:

HDMI Input Audio Format: Bitstream

Digital Sound Output: Pass Through

eARC Support: On

Also with the Xbox, when you have the audio setting set to Dolby Atmos for Home Theater, it will play ALL audio as “Dolby Atmos” even though the show or film isn’t actually available in Dolby Atmos.

Thank you sir,   Yes xbox was set to “Dolby Atmos for Home Theater”  tricksters.

Digital Sound Output: Pass Through
/* was on Auto, changed to Pass Through

Others were already set. Not sure it made a difference

Both Peaky and F1 (forth line down) indicate [VISION - ATMOS]  but with the audio “Other”  Peaky English [Orignal],   F1 English [Original] (atmos).  /* F1 sounds incredible

  • webos: Peaky, on app indicates Dolby Multichannel PCM 2.0
  • shield: Peaky, on app indicates Dolby Digital Plus 2.0

With this limited test,  this means ‘shield’ wins as default goto for netflix….  ?

(check that, multichannel pcm > dd+  so now webos is my goto,  confusing )
