mounting beam below tv specs

Hi @mglovin, Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to the community. About your question on mounting your Sonos Beam. I’d like to ask if is the wall mount that you have almost the same as this one on the Sonos website or is it a third-party wall mount outside the Sonos website? If so, then you can check for that product on installing it for your Sonos Beam, Specs: 3.9mm depth and the thread is M5 standard thread size. If this is not like the one that you bought, please let us know.

I bought the Sonos brand beam mount

 I am wondering how far above the base of the wall mount to drill the holes for the hdmi and power cords to line up correctly with the connections on the beam.

I am also wondering how far apart the hdmi and power connections are on the beam and if i need to drill one hole or two for the wires to line up correctly.

Hello there @mglovin, thanks for the update, I checked about your concern with our specialist, but we don't have a specific measurement of how much space is needed for drilling the holes to line it up with the HDMI port and power cables. We can wait for suggestions and recommendations from our other Sonos community users who may have the same setup that you have.

Not Sure what your goal is here. Sounds like you are trying run cables from the back of your TV inside the wall and back out to the Beam? Even if not...I suggest you wait until you get the Beam to be sure of whatever measures you are trying to make.

and, yes, you are right I am going to be running a cable from the tv through the wall and back out to the beam. the tv is already mounted and I am replacing another soundbar with the beam. the wall mount is here and the beam doesn’t arrive for a week, so i was going to get a head start and and have everything set for the beam.

I think what I am really asking is the distance from the bottom of the beam up to the center of the hdmi and power connection. and the distance between the hdmi and power ports to see where in the wall I would need to drill for the cables to come back through the wall and be lined up with their ports correctly. I thought that I could hang the mount and have the hole or holes drilled and cable run waiting for the beam to arrive.

i see what you are suggesting though waiting until it is here to mount and measure it.

just thought i could take care of all the messy bits before it got here. : )
