If memory serves, there are several settings in the XBox menus that need to be set properly, in order for it to send a Sonos readable (and by extension, other speakers) format to the TV set to be passed out to the Sonos.

High end HDMI cables are generally fine, I just object to paying more for marketing hype. It’s hard to get away from that, but I find Blue Jeans cables to work. They’re often Belkin cables, but the marketing budget there, reflected by the costs involved with the cables themselves, don’t seem to be objectionable to me.

I made the mistake in my younger years, of falling for Monster Cables’ marketing claims. After failing to find one that met my needs at the local Fry’s in Palo Alto, I ‘fell’ for an inexpensive (relatively) RCA made cable. Turns out, the quality was the same, the cost was less than half.

Yep, you are correct on the Xbox. Also can go to Xbox settings menu that shows check marks or Xs showing if meet requirements or not.

Everything showed good to go. But the higher end Fusion 8k cables total failure. Sent both lengths back. Will never buy Fusion again. Will never suggest or recommend Fusion to anyone, including my mother-in-law, if I had one.

Also, this may be relevant, HDMI2 is the eARC port on LG TVs:

Same thought. I’ve seen this very issue when researching about LG G4, and thought to myself? If HDMI 2 is the eARC? Why or where is it an issue for video? Should really be utilized for sound.

Granted maybe person needs the “extra” HDMI port to plug in an Xbox, 4k Player, Nintendo Switch, etc. But if that someone is spending LG G4 kind of money, they are going to use it as home theater and most likely going to have home theater sound system of some sort.
