LG G4 with Apple tv 4k and Ultimate immersive arc ultra set + (extra) gen4 sub and ERA 300 pair

Hi,

I’ve connected my Sonos Arc Ultra to my LG G4 via HDMI, which acts as my receiver speakers. I’ve also set up a complete Sonos system using the Sonos app, including the Arc Ultra, Sub 4, and two Era 300s.

Here are the issues I’m facing:

1. The full Sonos setup (Arc Ultra, Sub 4, and Era 300s) frequently disconnects when used as temporary audio.

2. When both the Arc Ultra as receiver speakers and the Sonos home theater setup are connected, I can’t control the volume with the Apple TV remote.

What’s the best setup and approach to resolve these issues?

After resetting my Sonos system and reconnecting everything, it’s working perfectly now. Thanks for your help!

In your list of issues with the Apple TV, is the bonded Arc Ultra Home Theatre setup a completely different setup to the Arc Ultra connected to the TV that the Apple TV is connected to? - if not, then I don’t understand why you would want to use a temporary connection to it over Airplay? You would just use the default HDMI connection to the TV instead and set the TV input to the Apple TV

To control the volume using the Apple TV remote you can simply use HDMI-CEC with the TV and connected Arc Ultra. However also see this Sonos Support link:

LG G4 Firmware Version 20.23.42 is riddled with issues like this, are you on this version?

Just Google LG G4 Audio Issues and you’ll find all the problems with the G4’s most recent firmware.

Keep an eye on your audio, you may notice drop outs.
