I want to use the 300’s as rear speakers in home theatre setup with Arc an Gen 3 sub. Rears must go on top of cabinetry with ample side spaces as suggested. My question relates to the sound quality resulting with only 12” above top of speaker as opposed to the recommended 24.” What are your opinions/experience with this situation. I hate to spend the big bucks if this will significantly reduce performance. Thanks for your input. Ed
I have an amp 2 ft away from my arc, with the amp controlling two rear embedded speakers. I've tried just about everything, including factory resets. If they stay decoupled, they both work. As soon as I try to add the amp as a surround system for the Arc, it fails to connect "Surrounds couldn't be added" and the Amp immediately becomes disconnected in my system. Both are connected via WiFi; previously the amp was on Ethernet but with the v14 update, surround doesn't work. Thanks in advance for any/all help.
I use Sonos Beam as soundbar for samsung smart TV. I also listen to music services via wifi. All (wifi) channels work fine, but TV audio has stopped functioning even though the TV icon shows up on my phone app just as it always has. All attempts to reconnect with TV have failed. Again, only wifi works. Direct hdmi connection between TV and Beam does not. Message says “hdmi arc not connected.” Ideas or suggestions appreciated. Just know I am not a sophisticated technician when you reply. Thanks.
I think I already know the answer to this: NONaievely, I added a Mini Sub to my Gen 2 Beam thinking that’s all I needed to upgrade my tv viewing experience. The Beam is connected directly to the TV via HDMI eARC.Here’s me thinking that the Beam could project wirelessly to the Mini Sub, but now that I write this all down I beginning to see how silly that is.So the next question is: what component am I missing to make this all work?To make matters more difficult, when the house was being built, I was able to run the cabling in wall to keep things clean from the tv to the sub. i’ve got a cabinet underneath with cabling from tv to PS5 so i could run extra cable but damn these activities are fiddlyPhoto is TV/Beam/Cabinet with Mini Sum elsewhere in room
I have the full sonos theater set up. Arc, era 300's, dual subs. Playing music through this sucks. The Arc can't hang with the era 300s and in settings you csn use a slider for surround (different for TV and music) but then it distorts the audio b/c Arc is still playing main channel. Is there an easy way to maybe ungroup the system and regroup era 300s and subs only for music? Or can Sonos make the slider for the Arc itself vs the surrounds and have the ability to quiet the Arc when music is playing?
I have the Samsung TV QE55Q60, on the web site of Samsung the TV can’t play Dolby Atmos but I have HDMI ARC port behind the TV so I wan’t know if I connect the Sonos Arc on the HDMI ARC port with an Apple TV last generation (the one with 128 Gb) on an other port connected with a movie who have Dolby Atmos sound, will my Sonos Arc play Atmos or not ? thanks for your help
Hope you are well folks!I am trying to understand the guildelines from Sonos on placement (specifically how high on the wall to mount them. In the guide is states;Era 300 should be placed indoors and have approximately two ft (.61 m) of overhead clearance for optimal sound quality. Is this stating two ft (0.61m) is the optimum height as that is how it reads to me? In my experience I would have thought the ideal placement would be closer to ear level?
Hi all, I have g3 sub, g2 beam, 2 x g2 amps & 4 x ceiling speakers. Initially I had hoped to use all together then realised the soundbar was a issue with the 2 front ceiling speakers, I had then hoped to use the beam, sub and rear ceiling speakers as a set up on 1 amp for tv etc for 5.1 then turn on the 2nd amp with 2 front ceiling speakers connected to it to play music all together, however this does not sound good listening to music, likely because of the soundbar I assume. Also the rear ceiling speakers set up as rear surround and on max volume etc are hardly noticeable. Any way around this? Do I scrap the sonos and go conventional amp with center speaker etc to control ceiling speakers for 5.1 and music stereo or other option I thought possibly have all 4 ceiling speakers on 1 amp just for music, then sub, beam and 2 further sonos for rear speakers behind sofa, the only problem I see with this though is the sub would only work with 1 amp or the other amp whereas I would like it
Bonjour.
Hi, so I quite often watch the sport on the TV with no sound, and listen to music instead on the Arc, (connected to the same TV), so no TV sound. However, I use a Sky mini box, which is very temperamental and quite often loses signal and cuts out. Every time the sky box loses its signal and then reconnects itself, it cuts the music off of the Arc and plays the tv sound by default. So I am forever restarting the music. Is there a way to stop the TV from cutting off the music every time ? and giving the music that is playing priority ?Thanks.
Hi everyone,I've just moved to a new house and we are trying to create a nice space for watching movie.I have an arc + a sub but I want to add some rear speakers.I'm hesitating between adding 2 era 300 or (just) 2 era 100 since my ceiling is very high and not straight, I've browsed a lot of threads here but couldn't find someone with the same ceiling.Even with true tuning trying to do is best, I'm not sure it's worth since the speakers will not be able to make the sound bounce from the top nor the side? Thanks for your help
I have just added a pair of Era 300s to my Arc + Sub to replace the Ones I was using. I have just tried a 7.1.4 test tone via an App on my Apple TV and when testing the up firing speakers both the front (Arc) and rear (Era 300) play at the same time when playing either the front or rear Atmos/ceiling speaker test tone (right or left). These should work independently right? Or do they operate in a .2 configuration rather than a .4 setup?
Hi guys,I’ve been using Sonos products for years and looking to expand my current kit into my home office. I’d like to connect a Ray to my PC via optical. I’d also like to connect the Sonos Amp to my PC via optical (assuming this is necessary and the amp can’t pick up the signal via WiFi). The amp will be powering 2x Q Acoustics bookshelf speakers that will act as rears. my PC only has one optical connection so with the above needing two optical connections, I’ve hit a roadblock. Does the amp need to be connected via optical if the Ray already is? any thoughts or guidance would be very much appreciated!
Hi, I am planning to use arc + 4 ceiling speakers + sub gen 3. I want the front two ceiling speakers to create that separation, which is lacking in the sound bar alone (coming from a klipsch floor standing speakers). Q1. What are the options currently in sonos app, for setting up the 4 ceiling speakers (2 amp is okay) along with arc + sub gen 3? Q2. Is 4 ceiling speakers paired with sonos arc a good setup? I learnt that rear ceiling speakers wont give rear atmos effect.
Hey Sonos community, all of a sudden my remotes (Apple TV remote/Roku Remote) no longer adjust the volume of the Arc soundbar. I have a Vizio TV (newer OLED) that has the CEC turned on and Audio eARC turned on. Out of nowhere both remotes stopped working. I have unplugged the HDMI cords and also made sure the Arc has the latest software updates. I can change the volume with my Sonos app on my iPhone but that’s it now. Any help would be great!
I have an Arc that I am playing with a Sonos sub and would like to add a single Era 100 as a rear channel as I don’t have room for two. Will it pair? I realize that having a single rear will not give me true DOLBY atmos but I don’t have room for two rear speaking. Will the system allow me to pair a singLe rear?

I have a projector in the TV room I currently send audio to a BT speaker via a transmitter directly to the speaker. I have a pair of SONOS play 5's, which do not have BT. Is it possible to send the audio signal through the BT transmitter to the SONOS with a BT receiver or something better? Thanks for the help.
Hello everyone, I’m desperate, I have no sound at all coming from my Beam 2, the sound is coming from the projector only. Here is my setup:Amazon Firestick 4k Max [The Player] EPSON TW7100 [The Projector] Sonos Beam Gen 2 [The Sound System] Feintech VAX04101 [The HDMI eArc Pass Switch] On the HDMI 1 port of my projector : Amazon Firestick 4k MaxOn the HDMI 2 port of my projector : Feintech VAX04101 On my projector screen, when I put the source HDMI 2, I have pictures from Sonos (see picture 1) On my projector settings, the “Audio Out Device” is on “AV System” and in “Device Connections” we can see “AV System : Sonos Beam : HDMI2” (pictures 2 and 3) On the FeinTech VAX04101, everything seems okay (picture 4), “HDMI OUT (ARC) TO TV” port connected to my projector HDMI 1 port and “1 ARC TO SOUND” port connected to Beam. On the Sonos app, when going to “TV configuration” and pressing next I have the message “The Beam is now connected to your TV” with a sound on the Beam soundbarBut beside
