Some troubleshooting help for those experiencing the popping/static/distortion sound after upgrading to tvOS17 with Apple TV 4K and Sonos Arc…I was experiencing this crackle/distortion from the Arc after a few minutes of use and most noticeably when I would start the Apple TV VPN service (I tried 2 different VPN Apps, same impact). Resolution:changing the Apple TV Video to 4K HDR (HDR10+) 60 Hz (from the 50Hz option) seems to have solved the issue after restarting the Apple TV and the Arc Trouble Steps taken (no resolution):Update Sonos S2 App, then update the Sonos speakers after (no resolution) Testing for 2.4Ghz interference, fixed wifi to channel 1 (from 6) and SonosNet Channel (in app) to 11 (from 6) (no resolution) trying different VPN (no resolution)Equipment:Apple TV 4K tvOS 17 (ethernet connected) Arc (ethernet conencted), ERA100 (x2), Sub (G3) Samsung “55 120Hz capable with One Connect box HDMI 2.2 cables Xbox Series XGood Luck to All!
Back again with my questions….and today it goes like this: There was a little bird flying pass my ears who mention something bout the Sonos Ray could be used as a surround-speaker and intentionally it could be placed in a vertical position. And that somehow COULD produce the “missing” up-fireing speaker in a Beam G2/Arc config. Of course you need two Ray’s like any other surround-speaker if you wondered. Is this possible?
I am contemplating changing my LED TV which is located on a TV cabinet for a projector which would be mounted from the Ceiling. This would mean repositioning my Beam due to no longer using a cabinet which is located on the floor. Can the Beam be mounted on a separate wall to that of the projector and the projector screen and slightly out of view to the seating ? or does it need to be mounted on the same wall as the screen ?
Hi everyone,I am a college student trying to cobble together the best home system I can with Used sonos’s. I have 2 Play ones and recently purchased a Connect. The goal: Have TV output come out of a 3rd party speaker and the 2 sonos Ones that are mounted in the rear of the room. My TV has a optical cable for audio output. I have bought a converter from Optical (out of the TV) into RCA to go into the Sonos Connect. And RCA to Analog into the 3rd party speaker. So far I cannot find a way to make it workFirstly, I wanted to make sure that this set up will work as expected. Secondly I would love advice on how to make this work or what I might be doing wrong. Thanks!
I have been using a Sonos Beam with 2 Sonos Fives as surrounds for watching content on my TV. The Beam standalone is not as good of a speaker compared to the Fives in my opinion and I have been contemplating if I should just sell it. On a side note, I am exploring the idea of grouping 2 Sonos Era 100s and 2 Sonos Fives and connect them to my Apple TV. Has anyone tried this before and have any feedback/inputs?
Living room with arc sub 2 sl’s, office with an era 300. Era 300 disappears from iPhone app. Have restarted router and speakers, still happens. Switch off iPhone and switch it on again makes it come back. Is odd, am currently restarting my iPhone multiple times a day just to get the era 300 to appear in the Sonos app
The Samsung Remote suddenly stoped working (28/9/23). Worked for years, 2021 Samsung Q90 tv. Tried changing battery in remote, and factory reset Playbar without luck. Was able to change volume a few times, and also re-connect in the app. But now it’s nothing. Also tried deleting universal remote and setting it up again. any body els experience this?

Hi all, I’m at my wits end with this ongoing problem. I’ve done the standard troubleshooting below which works HOWEVER whenever I turn the TV off at the end of the day and go to turn it back on to use it later or whenever the problem starts up again, communication failure etc. Really shouldn’t have to be doing this every time I want to use my system or watch a movie or game. Any help would be greatly appreciated. All my other devices work perfectly with my TV, the ARC is plugged into the E/ARC port and everything is configured correctly with Bravia Sync. Disconnect everything from the TV and unplug the Arc and TV from power for a couple of minutes. Plug everything back in but keep everything disconnected. Make sure Bravia Sync is enabled in the TV settings. Run TV Setup in the Sonos app and follow the app instructions. When the app instructs you, connect the Arc to the TV’s HDMI ARC port using the Sonos-supplied HDMI cable. After the Arc has been successfully connected, connect your ot
Just got my Sonos Arc and sub gen3. The sub connected to my WiFi without a problem. The arc won't connect. I tried Ethernet, reset my router, bought a new Ethernet cord, and even moved everything right next to my router. Still won't connect. Any suggestions on what to do next? Very disappointing after spending so much on these products. Hopefully I can get it to work. I'm using Android phone for Sonos app. I have a spectrum router. Literally every other thing I have connects to the WiFi without a problem. Only issue is the Sonos Arc. I do have an older 1080p TV.
Hi Sonos community I have a poor/zero wifi connection in my room and wanted to connect with a wired system. Pleast let me know if this is a possible set up for the Sonos Arc surround package. The situation is: I have a wired ethernet connection/port into my room from the router in the main house. Plan:Convert this singe ethernet port into multiple ports with a switch e.g. TP link TL-SG105Sonos ARC connected via ethernet to swtich, and ARC HDMI To TV Hisense N7 series (which is also connected to router via the switch)Connect Sonos Sub and SL One to Sonos ARC network WITHOUT wifiPlay TV with this Sonos surround system I understand i wont be able to control Sonos wireless e.g. on mobile app for music purposes which is fine as this is temporary until i move into a home with better wireless setup. A wifi range extender wont work for my room.Looked into a mesh network but my room almost gets almost zero wireless connectivity so not sure if this will work. Spoke to someone about another wir
1) I have followed the instructions - unplug > hold down mute button and plug back in > hold and wait for amber light > amber and white light flashes ... but then it immediately turns to flashing red. There is no flashing green. 2) During initial setup, my iphone sonos app can't find the "SONOS" wifi network. The only way I can set it up is through the ethernet connected directly to the router. 3) The surround speakers (2 play 1's via wifi) won't make any noise. The playbar is wired into the router. The surround speakers only work when as surround when one of them is hard wired into the router. When unpaired from the playbar, they each work fine independently or as stereo over wifi or ethernet. FYI the router is a brand new LINKSYS EA7300 router.
After turning off my tv speaker during the Sonos setup, I get this stupid message basically telling me that the TV speaker is deactivated. "The TV speakers have been turned off..." etc. Takes up about half the screen too. How can I turn this off? TV model: 55PFL5706/F7
I’m completely new to Sonos. Have the Arc + Sub (gen 3) coming whenever it’s off backorder. I’m also interested in upgrading my Bluetooth speaker to the Move. I know when watching movies I wouldn’t be able to pair the Arc & Move…. but if having parties and want the Move outdoors, could I stream the same music through both simultaneously for inside and out?
Hi, Recently I became the owner of a Sonos Beam soundbar. I connected this to my TV via HDMI ARC. I have some issues with the synchronisation of my TV sound. My audio output settings on my Philips 55POS9002 can be Stereo, Multichannel, Multichannel (bypass). My 4k kpn television experia box audio format can be set to Stereo, Dolby or Auto. It still suffer from lip-sync problems. On all devices it is possible to do things with the audio delay. What is the best combination of settings for the Beam ? Which audio format and where to set the delay ? Thanks in advance.
I have read a lot of the ARC and placement. It seems like to most people keep telling me that the ARC should be below the TV. But I can't really understand why? My TV (65”) is put on the wall 16 inch from the floor, the sofa is on the same hight so I get the eye view in center of the screen. 5 inch above the TV I have a sonos playbar. It works very well. Now I'm considering the ARC instead of the playbar but is thinking about the placement.Currently I have a media bench below the TV and drilled holes above the tv for the playbar to hide the cables inside the wall.I was hoping that I could use the same position for the ARC or I will need to remove the bench and “repair” the holes in the wall. The room is 8 foot high. Thanks!
Pretty straight-forward setup: AppleTV 4K connected to HDMI 2 on my Sony TV. HDMI-ARC out of the Sony into my Sonos Beam. This was working perfectly. Now, a mystery: I moved into a new home, hooked everything up in the same way as before (I think!) and now I can't get sound from the AppleTV to the Beam. My Sony TV is set to 'external speakers' (it did this automatically when I connected the HDMI cable from the ARC port to the Sonos. The Sonos itself is working otherwise (i.e. I can play music through it either via the Sonos app or by AirPlay).Suggestions? I'm going mad!
I have a projector which does not have ARC/optical audio output. I want to connect the beam to the xbox one optical output and then the xbox to the projector. In setting up the beam it asks to test connection and doesnt work from there. Anyone know if i can connect the Sonos Beam directly to xbox vs TV.
