Hello! I want to create this setup. 2 amps, a pair of in-wall speakers, a pair of ceiling speakers, Apple TV, and a projector. What is the correct way to connect the amps to the Apple TV and to the projector. I’m trying to figure out what cables to have and exactly how to connect it all. Thanks!
The first Amp powers the two in-wall speakers and connects to the projector via HDMI ARC or optical.
The second Amp powers the two in-ceiling speakers. You will need to add this Amp as surrounds to the first Amp in the Sonos app. They will communicate wirelessly.
The Apple TV connects to the projector via HDMI.
Thank GuitarSuperstar, I have a follow up question. If I also want to use those in ceiling speakers as the exact same audio as the in wall while watching tv can I do that as well? Or will there be a delay? I can see doing that while watching sports or listening to music
If you remove the second Amp from the first, that is not set to be powering surrounds, then you would Group it with the first Amp and likely see the 75 ms delay, how much it bothers you varies. Switching back and forth isn’t hard but gets old fast.
You might try a speaker switch that would let you connect the rear speakers directly to the front Amp when that is what you want. The second Amp would then be unused.
