When turning on my TV, how do I get it to automatically turn on the bar (ARC), AND the Sonos Move I also have in my Living Room?  The ARC (and Mini) always comes on, but I have to use the app on my phone to get the Move to joined in.  And then the Audio levels from each doesn't automatch, meaning I can’t use my remote to raise the volume for all at once.  It turns up/down the Arc/Mini, but I gave to go back to the App on my phone for the Move.  Isn’t there a way to group all of them together and have the all turn on and sync up when I turn on my TV?

This will take awhile as I have included screen shots to walk you through the setup process. The end result will allow you to easily select your Arc w/Mini and Move as a Group.  However, you’ll still have to use the app to control volume for the Move. Let’s begin…

Start from App Home Screen

Click the Cog Wheel in upper right corner to display this screen and click Manage

On this screen select Groups

On this screen select Create Group

On this screen Name your Group and select your rooms for Arc and Mini scroll down click Save (In my example the Arc room is Nano and the Move room is Patio)

On this screen see your new Group then click the Playing Now Box (Fireplace in this example) at bottom of screen to expand it

In this slide click the Speaker symbol (Fireplace) at bottom center

In this slide select your Group at the top and click Apply

In this slide see your Group in the Now Playing Box (Nano + 1 in this example)

As mentioned at the beginning Volume control for Move (Patio) is still a manual operation

Thank you for the help!  I’m at work, but I’m excited to get home to give it a try.

It does seem like there should be a work-around for the volume issue.  We should be able to use the remote and simultaneously control all speakers equally.  Oh well, maybe someone has a solution and will chime in.

Again, thanks so much!

You're welcome! However there is no solution for  simultaneous volume control with your TV remote and a separate speaker when grouped to the Arc. You can submit it as a feature request. 😊

One more question, once I’ve created the Group, will it automatically come up when I turn on the TV?

If now playing shows another room you’ll have to select the group. If now playing still shows your Arc and Move you be OK. Make sure you turn off “Ungroup on auto play” for the room with the Arc.

Never mind!  I figured it out.  It DOES remember to turn the whole group on.

Sorry to be a bother, and I DO appreciate your help.  But I just turned it on and it wasn’t grouped.  When you say to turn off “Ungroup on auto play”… where do I find that?  I’ll sit here and try to figure it out myself but this is a little complicated for an old man.

On Home Screen for Sonos app Click the Cog Wheel in upper right corner.

Select the Room with your Arc and scroll down to Home Theater and turn off Ungroup on Autoplay. If already off the button will be Gray.

You lost me after clicking “Manage”.  I don’t see where to select the Room with my Arc.  Under Manage, my options are:

About your System

Alarms

Audio Compression

Date & Time

Groups

Music Library

Network

Parental Controls

System Name

System Updates

Voice Assistants

I assumed you meant to select Groups, which I did but there’s no option to “Ungroup on Autoplay” there.

@MiamiGringo

Sorry for the typo. See the revised instructions. I removed “Manage”.
