I have two systems which include the Arc, sub, One SL’s, and a Sony tv. One system allows me to controll the tv of course and Arc music without the tv on. The other doesn’t allow me to control the arc without tv when listening to music. Both TV’s /remotes are set to the same settings. Can’t figure out why. I can use my phone only to control arc music volume on the one system when not watching tv. Settings on both TV’s for remote say via HDMI…not Bluetooth. Any suggestions?
The screen shown is a bit confusing to me. RS-232 and HDMI are two different control methods that don’t need to be exclusive. Try setting this to OFF.
Are the two TV’s the same model? If so, are they running the same firmware version?
With most TV remotes there is an option to control an audio system. If you use this mode the TV remote will issue IR commands and ARC can be trained to use these commands. Enabling this option may introduce some behaviors that you don’t like. You must try this option to find out.
