I have several clients that want to have surround play the sound bar volume. Currently we have to group these speakers and adjust the volume on the app we would love to group these speakers to the sound bar and they adjust the volume up or down with the sound bar based on the TV remote.

If you are grouping them, that’s not surround.  Surround is all speakers bonded together to be a single room with discrete channels for front left, center, right and two rear surrounds, with an optional sub or two.

I’d interpreted that post as a request for media room remotes that control a ‘home theater’ room in Sonos to also control the volume in other ‘grouped’ rooms. Something that has been requested before. But it’s hard to tell. It also doesn’t mention the challenge of the 75ms delay between the home theater room and any other grouped rooms, which is inherent to the way that Sonos is designed, from a software perspective, to synchronize music playback in multiple rooms.

For what it is worth, both the soundbar’s media remote controlling grouped rooms, and the ability to have surrounds play the center (voice carrying, most frequently) channel have been requested before. Many times.

Yes I have some older clients that want the amp to basically act kinda like the center while grouped with the sound bad and the TV remote to control the sound bar and the amp at the same time. Also would love to see them give us the option to play TV sound from sound bar as well as the ace headphones. I have some other clients that this would likely be a better solution than tv ears. If it has been requested so many times is there a way we can escalate the request?

I suspect by posting about it, the forum moderators will add your request to all the others.
