Hello! I have a question regarding the intended behavior of two Era 300s as surrounds in an Arc Ultra set up. It feels to me like the Era 300 side drivers are noticeably louder (maybe 6dB?) than the rear drivers. I’ve noticed that when turning down the surround volume slider you can make the sides match the rears, as that slider only changes the side volume and not the rears. With default settings after TruePlay, this imbalance doesn’t sound ‘bad’, but I am wondering if this is the intended behavior. I want to make sure that when every slider is set to ‘0’ (after TruePlay) I’m getting the closest experience to what Sonos/Giles Martin & co tested/approved. Thank you!

Edit for clarification: this is when playing Atmos from Apple Music through the Sonos app. This behavior is consistent between quick and advanced TruePlay with multiple rounds of each performed.

Hello @bogdalene, welcome to the Sonos Community!

Please have a look at the Community thread below, and more specifically the response from Jamie A, as it includes valuable information in regards to the expected behavior of the Sonos Era 300’s as surrounds on a Home Theater setup.

It is important to note that every Dolby Atmos track has been mixed in a different way and with different systems, it could well be intended that it sounds different from others overall.

I hope this helps.

Thanks so much @Sotiris C. ! This comment definitely helped.
