Era 300 clearance to ceiling

I want to use the 300’s as rear speakers in home theatre setup with Arc an Gen 3 sub. Rears must go on top of cabinetry with ample side spaces as suggested. My question relates to the sound quality resulting with only 12” above top of speaker as opposed to the recommended 24.” What are your opinions/experience with this situation. I hate to spend the big bucks if this will significantly reduce performance. Thanks for your input.

It will still work, but it will probably reduce the effectiveness of the upward-firing driver when playing Dolby Atmos audio.
