I have a Beam gen2 paired with a sub gen3. Can I add just one era 300 to this system? Or do I have to buy two?

You can add it as a different room, but 2 are needed if you want them as surrounds bonded to the Beam.

So it would only match the beam with music and not movies?
+18It will play TV sound too (when grouped with the Beam), but with a 75ms delay. And it will play all the the sound, not surround.
