distance of speakers from seated position

Hi, I have the arc,gen3 sub I'm thinking of getting the era 100's for surround sound.

My room is oblong 17ft by 8ft my settee is up against the wall)17ft so my seating is 6ft away from sound bar and TV, the eras will be roughly a foot behind me, will I still achieve suround sound or am I too close to sound bar, in other words will the sound bar drown out the rears?
