Hello , I recently added two Era 100s to my Beam Gen2 , my question is when i ask to play everywhere on my app to have all three units playing, both my Era100s gives distortion sounds not clear . the beam gen2 is directly connected to audio ARC HDMI and the Eras are on wifi. is there something i am doing wrong , and how can i get pure sure

Are they configured as a second room, or bonded to the Beam as surrounds?

@Momo S

If you set them up using ‘Add Surrounds’ in the Beam settings to make them your surround speakers, make sure you have set ‘Surround Audio’ for ‘Music Playback’ to Full rather than Ambient so the music fully comes out of the surrounds.

If you have them correctly set up as surrounds, you won’t need to ask Sonos to play everywhere in the app as there will just be one setup - ie the Beam and connected surrounds.

(If you’ve grouped them on the grouping screen by ticking each speaker and pressing Apply, then they’re not set up as surrounds, and the Eras may experience a 75ms delay vs the Beam.)

It sounds like a Wi-Fi sync issue. The Beam Gen 2 is wired via HDMI, but your Era 100s are on Wi-Fi, so slight delay or interference can cause distortion. Try these fixes:

Enable Wi-Fi Audio Delay (Lipsync) in the Sonos app.

Move the Eras closer to your router or ensure they have strong Wi-Fi.

Use the Sonos Trueplay tuning to re-optimize audio.

If possible, connect Beam via Ethernet instead of HDMI ARC only.

This should clean up the sync and audio clarity.

If the only connection to the Beam is the HDMI cable, it too is using wifi to connect to the router and controller.

If the surrounds are also wireless they will be using the Sonos private 5 gHz link to connect once configured.

I would not recommend connecting the Beam to Ethernet as that enables Sonosnet and requires additional configuration, also the Eras do not support Sonosnet so it will not improve connectivity to them.

@Stanley_4

I wouldn’t keep adding to this unless the OP comes back with more info…

So you would let the information / advice in the post above stand without comment?

It’s the fact that advice or suggestions have been given but it’s all supposition because the OP hasn’t come back to answer or clarify anything, so there’s little point adding anything else. Plus one of the posts was based off AI…
