I recently just go the Sonos sub gen 2 and while setting it up, it required a compatible Sonos speaker which Sonos ray was part of the speakers but I’m having issues connecting both speakers to work together

Did you factory reset the Sub before attempting to connect it to your system?

A second hand Sub was probably connected to another system and may NOT have been reset before selling. A factory reset is necessary in order to connect it to your WIFI and your soundbar.
