I cannot control volume or mute on Sonos system with Apple TV or Sony TV remote. Connection to Playbar is optical out from TV
Need to know optimal TV sound settings.

Your Playbar requires that any remotes must use Infrared (IR) to give commands. It’s not uncommon for remotes that use radio by default (like Apple TV remote) that after a software update, they must be told to use IR again.
For your Apple TV remote, please see the instructions at our Use an Apple TV remote with Sonos home theater products help page. I’m not aware of whether your Sony remote does this or not - please consult your TV manual.
Regarding the TV’s audio options, it’s best to set your digital audio output format to Auto (Press the HOME button, then select nSettings] — tDisplay & Sound] — ;Audio output] — iDigital audio out])
