Connecting Beam with more devices than HDMI ports

My TV supports ARC on one of two HDMI ports, where I currently connect my new Beam (works great!). I want to connect two devices to the other HDMI as input, and plan to use an HDMI switch. In this setup, should an HDMI switch support ARC to connect both an Apple TV and Nintendo Switch on the input (non-ARC) port?

The HDMI switch will not need to support ARC for your case. ARC stands for Audio Return Channel, and is essentially only going to be used to communicate audio between the TV and Beam. Your ATV and Switch will send audio to the TV through normal HDMI connection.

Thanks. Wasn't clear to me if there was an upstream part of the protocol on the input side. Clear now.
