Combining Sonos Arc to wired in-ceiling rear speakers for home theater via Sonos Amp

Hi,

I’m redesigning our home theater setup and I have in-ceiling wired speakers that I can connect to a Sonos Amp.  I would use a Sonos Arc as the front channels.  Can I then connect the in-ceiling speakers via a Sonos Amp to the ecosystem to use as rear channels for surround sound in the home theater setup?

If possible, do either of the Arc or the Amp need to be hardwired to the router or a switch?

Yes, the Amp can be used as surrounds with the Arc.

Neither need to be hard wired to the router, but wiring the Arc to the router could improve network performance.

The Arc only needs to be connected to the TV’s HDMI ARC port. The Amp will communicate wirelessly with the Arc.

Just to leave my personal opinion…

For Dolby Atmos imho you would do a better investment in a pair of Era100 or Era300 instead of buying an Amp.
Maybe the design factor is important, but using a Sonos Amp just for adding „normal“ in ceiling speakers as rearspeakers imo is a little bit of an overkill.

Hi there!

Follow up question:  if I add a sub to this setup, can I run the sub wireless?
