+18Or you set the new router to work with the same SSID and password as the outgoing one.
The best plan is to power down everything on the network except the device needed to configure the new router. After the new router is configured, then restart the other devices. If the new router uses the old SSID and password, there will be less work for the human. Yes, without the power down the devices will probably figure out the new connection -- eventually -- meantime there could be some very confusing, intermittent issues when devices might not be available.
