I have a Beam 1 with a sub mini and two Play 1s set up s surrounds. I am replacing the Beam with an Arc. Do I need to remove the surround set-up before doing so?

It is usually best to remove them.

Give the surrounds useful names when you do, right and left work for me. The sub won't need a name.

If you don't have another TV for the Beam it makes a very nice, unobtrusive room speaker.  Mine lives on top of a cabinet where it is almost unnoticeable yet sounds great.

And life becomes much harder if you don’t remove them from the Beam first, you end up needing to factory reset them, which is somewhat painful, and an unnecessary step.
