Ceiling surround speakers don't work with Arc but do work when used separately

I have an Arc and 2 in-ceiling speakers connected to an amp. If I stream from, say, spotify to the ceiling speakers, it works fine. But if I use the app to connect them to the Arc as surround speakers, no sound comes out. I’ve tried watching things with netflix and also using Airplay to stream a surround sound test from a website (not youtube). I’ve also tried rebooting the router and the arc. Any other suggestions?

This was it. Wifi was enabled for the surrounds but the amps were also wired to the router. I disconnected that, rebooted the system and it works. Thank you!

Stream something from the Arc and toggle the surrounds between Full and Ambient modes and see if the sound changes.

It was on ambient so I changed it to full and still no sound from the surrounds. Thank you though.

The Sonos App is showing that your TV is sending a 5.1 signal and you are sure there is sound on the surround channels?

We see several places where the app shows 5.1 but there is nothing on the surround channels.

Someone here suggested trying the free Apple TV trailers to get a good 5.1 sound source.

Yes  it says Dolby Digital 5.1 on the app but there is definitely no sound coming out of the surrounds (I also just tested with an Apple TV trailer)

Are any of the speakers wired to the router with an ethernet cable? Make sure you keep WiFi enabled on all speakers in the Sonos app.
