Beam gen2 + play3

I have a Beam gen2 and have had a Play 3 for a number of years. We moved house several months ago and I have not attempted to use the Play 3 since then.

I thought it would be a good idea to use the Play 3 as part of a surround sound system and would be prepared to buy a second hand Play 3. I tried to use the Play 3 but the app does not recognise it.

Will this be resolved with the addition of another Play3 and will they both have to be reset?

Hi

Yes, two Play:3’s are fine to work as Surrounds (https://support.sonos.com/en-gb/article/surround-sound-guidelines-and-limitations)

To add them, they both must have been added to your system as stand alone devices first and then added to your Beam as Surrounds.
