Hello,

delighted with my latest acquistion of the Beam Gen 2 home theatre set.

I have connected everything as normal, however when I connect the HDMI to the arc port in the TV (samsung) the app says “arc not detectedf try again.”

The sound works fine but shoild I connect to another port/change the HDMI cable?

Appreciate any guidance available.

What model TV do you have?

Did you use the HDMI cable that came with the Beam?

Is the TV and Beam on the latest firmware updates?

Have you tried unplugging the TV and Beam for a few minutes with thw HDMI cable unplugged? Then plug them back in before connecting the cable?

Hey, thanks for replying.
I used the same HDMI cable connected to the previous Samsung soundbar.

All firmware is up to date.

Unplugged and reset a number of times.

Should I use the Sonos HDMI cable?

It certainly shouldn’t do any harm to try it.

Older cables may not support ARC or EARC, easier to try the Sonos cable than try to figure out an existing one.

If the Sonos cable works and the old one doesn't either keep the Sonos or order a new one making sure it supports EARC.

Some HDMI cables with oversized heads will not fully engage with BEAM. Removing excess plastic from the plug head will allow the plug to fully engage.

Once again…what model Samsung do you have? The question was asked by another member 12 hours ago. In case you’re confused we’re asking for the Samsung Model Number. We already know it’s a Samsung. 😂
