Surround system currently…

Beam Gen 1 with two Play 1’s as the surround spkrs

I would like to add the Sub Mini

Can this work and be controlled by S1 controller or?

Thanks!

No, the Sub Mini is only compatible with the S2 app. It would work if you moved the Beam and Play:1s to S2.

Are the Play 1’s gen 1? If they are Gen 2 you could switch to S2.

All Play:1’s are S2 compatible.  There are no Gen 1 or Gen 2 Play:1s.

So with adding the sub mini along with the beam gen 1 and the play 1s for the surrounds then they would be controlled by the S2 app correct?

my remaining speakers would all be controlled by S1 if I understand correctly

You could do that but it would really cripple your setup.

Far better to move all to a single S2 setup.

Can I move play 5’s and a sonos connect to the S2?

It depends on which generation Play 5 and the manufacture date of the connect.
