I am thinking of upgrading to the new Arc Ultra (currently running the previous gen).  My current setup is Sonos Arc, Sub Gen 3, and (2) One SL’s as my surrounds. I’m also considering adding the Sub Gen 4 for a dual-sub setup.

Question, with Dolby Atmos and the new Arc Ultra, could I add a second set of ceiling-mounted surrounds which would be positioned above and behind my (2) One SL’s?  Can the Sonos Arc Ultra pass audio to the (4) surrounds properly when Dolby Atmos is played?

Thanks!

No, you cannot have more than 1 pair of surrounds.

You might consider a set of Era-300s as the surrounds if you want more room filling sound.

I was using Play 1s and One SLs as my surrounds, in different rooms. When I upgraded to the Ultra I also picked up a set of Era-100s and Era-300s. I was quite impressed with the Era-300 sound in my media room but they failed the spouse approval stage and ended up as a fantastic Stereo/Atmos pair in my office instead. Popped the Era-100s in the spot the Play 1s used to sit and aside from the lights the spouse has had no comments or complaints and I think the sound is noticeably better.
