Recently, I’ve had trouble with nbc—I can’t hear the sound from the sports announcers. If the ref speaks, I can hear him. On those same broadcasts, some commercials aren’t playing all the audio either. It had always worked in the past, but stopped a week or two ago.

You could wait for the issue and submit a diagnostic, call Sonos and see if they can see the incoming signal. If it is bad or there is an internal issue maybe they can help.

That’s strange. However, the Arc can’t decide which audio it will or will not disperse.
- Have you checked the HDMI connections on both ends and or changed the cable.
- Are you getting NBC broadcasts Over The Air (OTA) or via a cable provider?
If OTA then you need to check your antenna. If a cable provider then you should contact them. You might also check for updates for your TV.
+1Thanks. It is OTA, and the attenna is working for all the other channels, I recently replaced the hdmi cables, but I can try another one.
OTA allows audio sub channels for second languages and such. This would be a TV setting. It’s possible that the TV is sending a sub channel dedicated to the Ref’s, not the main channel.

I’m watching NBC right now (SNF) and I’m getting sound on my Arc.
It’s not uncommon for OTA transmissions to have issues with one network and not others. Each station broadcasts over it’s on carrier wave or specific frequency assigned by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
The local station in your area may be experiencing difficulties. As it’s an OTA transmission affecting only one network I’d see if a neighbor (or neighbors) is experiencing the same issue. If so, you have a basis to contact the station. If not then problem lies with your antenna and/or the TV itself.

Maybe someone accidentally changed an option at the station or your TV. Stations are not required to use sub channels. Someone at the station or network may have decided that it would be great to pass the Ref’s through and your TV is set to use that normally unused sub channel.
Check the TV’s sound options for that station.
