I recently purchased a Sonos Arc. Connected to LG Model TV. Problem I’m having is sometimes the sound switches back to TV internal speaker. The workaround is to then go into the tv settings and switch back to HDMI as the audio output. Anyone else having this issue? Not the worst issue, but considering the premium price tag of the ARC I would expect better compatibility.

As clarification you did purchase an Arc and not the Arc Ultra? Regardless neither the Arc nor Arc Ultra will cause the audio to switch. Audio output is controlled via your TV’s sound menu. You might check the CEC settings of your TV also located in the sound menu. Also check for updates to your LG.

If I go and tap one of the touch buttons on the Arc (not Arc Ultra) the sound output switches ti the Arc. So the issue seems to be that the Arc is not sending a signal to the TV that it is on and available as the sound output source.
Or, that the TV’s CEC system, which controls the HDMI-ARC/eARC connection isn’t turned on.

The Arc doesn’t send signals to the TV to announce its presence. The Arc receives the Audio. Check your HDMI connection on both ends and/or try a different cable. The only time the Arc communicates with your TV is via a voice assistant like Alexa etc., over CEC which again is controlled by your TV. For instance you might say Alexa turn on/off TV or raise/lower volume.
