I have an arc in the main room and ceiling speakers in the same room. The amp for those speakers is in a rack in the basement. Can I make the amp surrounds if the amp is not line of site to the arc?

Possibly. When connected as surrounds, the Amp does need to communicate with the Arc’s 5GHz radio. You just have to try it out for yourself.
