If the soundbar in question has the ability to connect to an AirPlay 2 signal, sure, that wouldn’t have changed with the iOS OS change. I don’t think Sonos guarantees any lipsync, though.

Not sure why you want to change connection methods, though. Wiring distraction?

You’re right - wiring distraction initially.

I can enable AirPlay on the Arc Ultra and Era 300 speakers.  But the setting does not persist.  They reset to HDMI at each change on the Apple TV.  Something, according to Apple, that should not happen.  And the reason I asked in the forum also.

The sonics are different with AirPlay.  And I want to explore that with movies and music.

AirPlay 2, as Sonos has it currently implemented, can’t carry an Atmos signal, so any differences you hear might be due to that. I’m given to understand they’re going to update, at some point in time, the AirPlay 2 implementation, but I’ve no idea when that would happen. Right now (without any testing on my Arc), I think it is restricted to stereo.
