I have a Bean and two Ones for my TV. A lot of the time the voices on the TV program are quiet but the sound effects are loud. I find myself having to constantly turn the volume up and down.
is there a way to even them out?

Turn on Night Sound (moon icon) on the Now Playing screen in the Sonos app.
If you still have trouble hearing voices, turn on Speech Enhancement (dialog bubble icon).
Check in the Sonos controller that your Beam is actually receiving a Dolby Digital, rather than stereo signal.
