Hi - just about to press the button on a cinema set up (arc, era 3’s and sub) - to connect to a tv with eARC for surround sound and Dolby Atmos etc.. Question though - can you still use either the whole system or just the arc or just the era 300s to play music through from the sonos app (completely separate to the TV) when you don’t want the TV on - and just use them like any other Sonos speaker? Or does this set up ONLY work with the TV when it’s on? Thanks.
Your home theater setup is a Sonos room and can be used to output TV or music, either on its own or grouped with other Sonos devices.

Thanks. So does that mean I can send music to that ‘room’ from the sonos app as well (with the TV etc. turned off)? Or will that ‘room’ only work with what is supplied to it from the TV via the eARC connection?

Yes you can send music to the home theater system with the TV turned off

The TV can be off. The Arc can get music from the internet by itself (the Sonos app is just a controller). Please note that you can’t play audio the the Era 300s by themselves when they are bonded to the Arc as surround speakers.

Got it - thanks for the advice.
